 Local Carrier Company Celebrates
Ten Years of Unprecedented Growth and Excellence
Concord,
N.C. – (October 1, 2007) -- Commemorating its 10th anniversary
with a recent summer celebration of vendors, suppliers,
and employees, Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation
(Cardinal) has much to be proud of: strong continued
customer relationships; numerous industry accolades
and awards and 10 years of meeting and exceeding the
highest industry standards. In the past three years
alone, Cardinal has experienced an unparalleled growth
margins with revenue now surpassing $450 million.
But as any successful company
understands, Cardinal has never forgotten its’ roots. Headquartered
in Concord, NC, a small suburb of Charlotte, the company
began as Cardinal Freight Carriers, Inc. in 1980 with
a mere 14 trucks. In 1997, the Chicago-based private
equity firm GTCR Golder & Rauner acquired Cardinal
and parent company, Carolina Freight. The business
was rebranded as Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation
and with the acquisition of an Atlanta-based firm—later
developing into a branch known as Cardinal Delivery—focused
their attention specifically toward “final-mile” delivery
and third-party logistics (3PL).
Now one of the fastest growing
3PL’s in the nation
with many Fortune 500 companies as satisfied customers, Cardinal
now employs more than 1,300 individuals, the company
remains headquartered in Concord, NC and engages in
many local, regional and national business initiatives,
including the Environmental Protention Agency’s
(EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership.
As with most successful businesses,
much of Cardinal’s
strength comes from its leadership. The executive
management team consists of veterans Vin McLoughlin,
Chairman of the Board; CEO, Tom Hostetler; President
and COO, Jerry Bowman; and CFO, Carl Texter. McLoughlin
and Hostetler have been with Cardinal since its genesis;
Bowman joined a year later and Texter was welcomed on
board shortly thereafter in 2004.
