Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation
Announces Seven-Year Contract with Monarch Windows
Concord, N.C. and
Anniston, Ala. - (July 30, 2007) --
Executives with Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation
(Cardinal), one of the nation’s fastest growing,
third-party logistics and transportation service firms,
today announced that the company was awarded a seven-year
contract with Anniston, Alabama-based Monarch Windows and
Doors. The contract specifies that Cardinal will provide
several drivers and tractors, nine trailers and fleet tracking
through a program called PeopleNet. PeopleNet utilizes
GPS monitoring.
“Cardinal relieves us of the
burden of having to maintain the equipment ourselves and maintain
the staff,” says Felix Winston, Director of Operations
for Monarch Windows and Doors. “We are on a dedicated
lease program. Cardinal supplies the drivers, the trucks,
the trailers, everything. They take care of the maintenance
of the vehicles and should a driver call in sick, they take
care of that. We found the company’s prices to be the
most competitive and we also liked that they would be providing
all-new equipment.
Monarch is over 100
years old. The company was founded in 1888 under the name “JELCO” lumber and remained
a family-owned business until the ’80s. Today, Monarch
has approximately 220 employees, annual revenue of $20 to
$50 million, and operates out of one, 205,000-square-foot
facility. Morris Capital Management, which is based in Chattanooga,
Tenn., purchased Monarch two years ago.
“Delivery is very important to our company’s
overall mission,” says Winston. “The Cardinal
driver is representing us to our customer base. So if that
driver is friendly, courteous and diligent, then our company
comes across as great. The driver is the next closest thing
to a salesman that we have out in the field. So it’s
very important that that driver be of top quality.”
